Catch Up

Well, once again I have let 5 months go by without posting anything. There's so much to catch up on from the past few months, but I will just have to hit some of the highlights.

I want to start with the stats from our doctor visits:

At 1 year:
Height: 28 inches (12%)
Weight: 17 lbs 4 oz (13%)
FOC: 18 inches (72%)

At 15 months:
Height: 31-1/4 inches (75%)
Weight: 19 lbs 9 oz (25.6%)
FOC: 18-3/4 inches (69.6%)

At 18 months:
Height: 32-1/2 inches (69%)
Weight: 20 lbs 9 oz (20%)
FOC: 18-1/2 inches (69%)

It has been pretty amazing to watch how fast Bailey is growing into a big girl. She is 21 months old now, and it is crazy how much she says and understands. Her talking has really developed quickly and she has picked up so many new words and phrases in a short period of time.

I would say her favorite things right now are her "Sissy girl" (her WubbaNub pacifier with a doll attached - named by her daddy), watching "Mickey" (Mickey Mouse Clubhouse) or "Einsteins" (Little Einsteins), drinking milk, and driving (anytime she gets near an open car door, she tries to climb in the car and says "I wanna drive" and has a meltdown if we don't let her get in the driver's seat.)

Here are some other things she is doing these days:
Counts to 10 and sometimes to 12 or "teen," but she usually leaves out 8
Still loves to look at books. Some of her favorites are Angus Lost, a Richard Scarry book about colors, Easter Surprise, and her story Bible
Not a big fan of eating most of the time. As I mentioned earlier, milk is one of her favorite things, and more often than not she would rather have milk than food....unless what we're eating is french fries. We're trying to work on this
Likes outdoor activities such as blowing bubbles and drawing with sidewalk chalk, swimming, and swinging and sliding on her play set
Likes to play with her baby dolls and feed them, change them, and put them to bed
Loves her puppies, Maddie and "Roy" (Leroy), and likes to feed them
Learning colors, but right now everything is red
Gives hugs and kisses
Says things like "oh gosh," "oh, I forgot," "silly {fill in the blank}," and "that's cute"
Calls my dad "Bobby." We were trying to get her to call him G-Bob, but so far it has been Bobby, which I think is funny and cute
Calls Phillip's dad "Grandy." He is supposed to be Granddaddy, but it has been coming out as Grandy, which I also think is funny and cute
Calls her cousin Colton "Coken"

Here is some of what we've done this spring and summer:

The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo in March:

Told you she loves to drive

When we were visiting Bebe and G-Bob (Bobby) in April for Easter, we went to Gone Wild Safari in Tioga:

That goat has devil eyes.

Eating a lemon!

Two Easter baskets! Nana got her the purple one and made the liner, and the other one is mine that I used every year as a child.

Not my favorite picture, but the only family picture we got at Easter

Playing with our Louisiana cousins

The scratch on her nose is from a fall on the brick steps at Bebe and G-Bob's

She enjoyed hunting for Easter eggs

At the Houston Children's Museum in May

Of course, she had to drive the car. She climbed right in and said "close door" and "keys?" Yikes.

I think this series of pictures is hilarious. It's a machine that takes a photo of you trying to match different poses of the person on the screen.

Daddy suddenly flipped her upside down to match the pose, and it scared the poor girl half to death!

Driving again!
