This birthday is brought to you by the letter B and the number 2!

November 2, 2012 - Bailey turned 2! On the day of her birthday we had a family birthday get together with all B's grandparents, aunts and uncles, and of course Colton James. We went to eat at Ninfa's and then went to Baskin Robbins for ice cream.

Coloring at Ninfa's. And, for the record, the outfit she has on is a 12 month outfit that was a gift from Aunt Pam for her 1st birthday! It only just now fits!

Bailey got her first ice cream cone of her very own!

Unfortunately, this is where the ice cream ended up....

The next day was her birthday party. This year we went with a Sesame Street theme. We had originally planned to have the party at our neighborhood park in the gazebo. We were in the process of getting everything set up there when storm clouds started rolling in. It got dark and very windy. The rain was not coming yet but we knew it was just a matter of time. After several times going back and forth on whether to take a chance and stick it out, stay under cover, and let the rain pass or just move the party back to the house, we made a last-minute executive decision to relocate everything back to the house. So, in a mad dash, all the living room furniture got pushed out of the way and the house became party central. Not exactly what I had planned, but if there's one thing I've learned, it's that a lot of things in life don't go as planned. So we just rolled with it, set up everything at the house, and the kids had fun all the same.

Walking with G-Bob to the gazebo to see what's going on

Oh so excited to see that there is a party happening just for her!

Phase 1- Setting up at the gazebo and Bailey directing all her workers

Birthday girl!

Here's where we ended up....Phase 2 - Party moved home. It was really a team effort to get everything moved and set up at the last minute, and it certainly came together nicely!

Opening her princesses and princess bag from Nana and Granddaddy

Very first pair of ballet shoes from Nana and Granddaddy

Special princess blanket made by Nana!

She loved it so much she felt the urge to jump up and land bottom first on top of it

Abby Cadabby, just like on her dress, which Nana also made especially for her birthday. What would we do without grandparents (especially ones who know how to sew)???

Having tea with Aunt Pam and Kayleigh with her new Abby Cadabby tea set

Time for cake! Sitting at the new picnic table. Bailey's friends who came to her party were Brianna Weems, Karolina Montalvo, Kayleigh King, Colton King, and Luca Rodriguez.

Singing Happy Birthday! (And new pink play kitchen in the background from Bebe and G-Bob.)

After all the festivities were over, since it wasn't raining, we decided to venture back out to the park to do one thing we had originally planned before we got rained out - feed bread crumbs to the ducks. It was mostly family left by this time. Bailey felt she needed to put on her rain boots to do this.

This blow up toy was a gift from Aunt Lisa for Bailey's birthday last year. It was a big hit then, and it came through again. I bought some ball pit balls to throw in there, and the kids loved it! We could have done without any other activities and just played with this.

Wardrobe change/photo op: Aunt Glinda got these matching outfits for Bailey and Luca, so we wanted to get some pictures of them while we had them together

We also got a few family photos before the night got away from us

Birthday party number 2 is in the books, and it was a success despite the inclement weather and last minute change of plans. Can't believe our sweet baby girl is 2! We love her more today than ever and can't wait to celebrate so many more birthdays!
